Skin Tips To Get You Glowing This Festive Season

With the festive season slipping by in a blur of parties, frantic gift shopping and a few too many vinos, you might find yourself dealing with more skin woes than usual. Check out our tips for maintaining a healthy complexion throughout the silly season!

 

Avoid overindulging in salty food

Steer clear of nibbling on too many salty finger foods (fries, we’re looking at you) that are usually on offer in abundance during the festive season. We benefit from a little salt, but too much sodium leads to water retention. The result? A more bloated looking complexion, especially puffiness in the under-eye area where skin is the thinnest and more susceptible to visible bloating.

Balance out any salt sabotage by sipping plenty of water during the day and between cocktails at the work Christmas party. If that still doesn’t sort out puffy eyes, try a DIY cold chamomile compress. Super easy to make, just put a few chamomile tea bags in hot water to steep. Take them out, put them in the fridge to cool down and then pop them over your eyes for 10 minutes. A good way to fit in a little self-care downtime during the hectic festive season.

Sip on matcha green tea

Matcha green tea contains a type of antioxidant polyphenol called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). This tongue twister antioxidant fights cell-damaging free radicals that can lead to visible signs of ageing like fine lines and wrinkles.
